Vervada winged her way back toward the forest as fast as she could, knowing the time was essential to keeping the farm and family safe, as well as her rider. It was our fault that all of this happened, mostly my fault though, if only I hadn’t let out that roar…She shook her mighty head as she flew to clear it of these thoughts then started scanning the ground and looking for any signs of pursuing war parties. She didn’t have to look for long, as she could see a large group marching toward the farm a few miles ahead of her. A large group, of course, being around eighty strong. Behind them she could dimly see a large group of over a hundred. Jake…two groups coming in, one of eighty, the second of over a hundred.
While Vervada had been doing reconnaissance, Jacob had been looking around for anything they could use in their defense. When Roy’s father Marcus came out to greet him he offered his hand. He nodded when he learned that the farm had been in the family for so long; he had suspected as much and it also strengthened his resolve to make sure the farm stayed standing. I’m glad to hear that you are proud of him, already I respect him for his abilities. He will make a very fine rider. You have taught him well. For now though, We need to prepare to defend your home. Vervada, my dragon, just informed me that there are two columns of urgals marching here as we speak, one numbering eighty, the second numbering over a hundred.
Vervada…we need some time. Do whatever you can to slow them down without directly attacking them. Send fireballs at them or something. He dimly heard a loud roar in the distance.
