Kyle and Andirekkr had made a long trip across the mild of the Brodding kingdom. But that was not to say that it was a time consuming one. Since the spirit had bound to his body, Kyle had found himself stronger and faster then he ever had been before. It was odd, being so human and not at the same time. And even odder to have another voice inside of his head. Why do you keep stopping? We have to find the Riders boy.
For something that never had a body of its own, he sure does push me hard. Kyle understood the spirits rush tough. With an army of Shades slowly growing in Hardarc Desert, they had to get as many riders out there as once as he could find. The trouble was in convincing them that he was not one as well. Even with Andirekkr in his body for only three weeks, Kyle still did not trust the spirit, and they both knew it. Picking up his pace again, he was quickly to the Elven city with in an hour. A total of a day and a half, and he had covered a distance that would have taken him nearly a week to make with his family and herd.
Making it into the slow travel of traffic going into the city, and slowed his pace to match. While he was stronger then humans, he still looked like one and needed to act as such. The other thing he did was bring his hood up over his head. While most humans didn't see the golden lines over his skin, the pair would not want to be found out before they found a Rider. Looking around in the City, it was obvious that it was Elven city. The oldest towers in the middle looked like they where straight out of one of his dreams. The newest buildings that he was looking at right now where plain, but well built none the least.
Finding a Rider was rather easy as well. The bright colored sword that they worn on their hips where easy to spot on the bright day along with his better then ever sight. It was like being a hawk, able to see the dimples on a brick from half way down a street. He strode over to the Rider, one that was human luckily as well. Please keep quite Andirekkr. This will be hard enough with out you piping in from the start. Striding over to the man, he expanded his mind till he could feel the Rider standing next to him. Hopefully he would not be attacked in return.

Roy walked among the crowds of the city of Gil'ead. The still young rider blinked at the strange shapes and sizes of fruit. He also saw the game animals that are freshly killed and are being sold on the streets by merchants or local elves.
His blue eyes blinked at the Elven buildings and kept a minor conversation with his dragon partner, Soreth. He and Soreth has been bonded for about 2 years already. Roy is still in training, so he doesn't have his Rider's sword yet. Anyway, he is really anxious for the day that he will get his Rider sword.
Roy stopped at a stand that sells interesting weaved pots, baskets and clay pots. His blue eyes blinked as he leaned down to study the designs of dragons and riders on the little nick nacks. Suddenly, he felt a presence in his mind and looked up quickly. His head surveyed the area as Soreth asked him what is up.
I felt a presence that I never felt before. What should I do, Soreth?
Stall or talk to him. Maybe, he or she is not bad at all. I will be there in a minute, alright? Hold tight, Roy.
Roy Roy nodded politely really slightly. He felt his dragon partner speeding toward him with soft strokes of his wings. Roy looked around again before seeing the hooded figure beside him. His blue eyes examined Kyle with a soft and polite gaze.
Roy softly moved his mind to Kyle's. "Um. You got my attention, sir." the young rider said to the stranger. He then softly smiled as he saw Soreth's shadow fly over the city, his and Kyle's figures as well.

It was just a tiny smile that crept its way across Kyle's face. At least he was not going to be attacked. For now anyways. He turned and faced the Rider, some one that did not look any older then Kyle himself. Stop wasting time Kyle, or I will speak. Gritting his teeth in agitation, the human got ready to make his story to the Rider. Looking around themselves, he motioned for the man to follow him down into a smaller alley, keeping his mind open and pushing out innocent thoughts.
Andirekkr emanated his lack of patience with the situation, and Kyle was sure that he was serious about taking over right now. He turned around to face Roy, and started to speak quickly, "I hope you can believe this, but there are Shades gathering in the Hadarac Dessert. They want to get their numbers to two hundred Shades. They are being lead by one called HerliĆ°." He not only said this with his voice, but also pushed the knowledge with his mind to let the Rider know what Kyle Spoke was the truth.
Of course, with Kyle letting the knowledge of the Shades with his mind as well, the fact that a spirit was currently joined with him poured out before he had the chance to do anything to stop it. Andirekkr was quick to put in his own two cents as well at this point. This boy dose not point out the dire need to put a stop to them before they number more then 10. It will be hard enough to kill the ones there now. Most only have 2 or 3 spirits, but HerliĆ° was 19 trapped with in. I was one of them.

Roy blinked as he watched the young man that stood beside him. His mind also heard Soreth's questions and asking if he was to be down or not.
Not yet, Soreth Okay, but do say if you need my company for this. This might be bigger then you will think, sometimes it is.
Roy nodded as he then saw Kyle gesture him into an alleyway. The young rider paused and heard Soreth tell him to go where the stranger wanted Roy to be. Roy nodded to Kyle before following the 'good' shade into an alleyway.
Roy listened with an open ear. His eyes slightly widened and easily passed the info to Soreth who said, Shades?! Not good, not good at all. We must tell Jacob and Vervada when we see them next.
Okay, I will tell Jacob. Roy answer to Soreth's mind. Roy then felt the information being shoved in his mind which Roy easily sent it to Soreth who growled loudly in hatred for the shades. Roy slightly winced as he felt the hatred bubbling in Soreth's usual kind demeanor.
Roy then heard another voice and peer at Kyle again. He heard the next words from the spirit and faltered. Okay, I heard that. Thanks for the info. I will contact my Rider teacher and his dragon as fast as I can. he told to Kyle's mind with a polite nod of his head. So, how do you know all of this info? Have you seen it? Roy asked Kyle's mind softly before backing out to allow privacy.

The touch of a Riders mind was an interesting thing to say the least. While it was plain that the man had started life as human, his magic and touch with a dragons mind had given it flares of the exotic. While it did not startle Kyle as much as the touch of the spirit. The spirit was something else entirely. Raw emotion, power, and life flowed from the touch of Andirekkr's mind. Which was the one that now reached out to communicate his knowledge. Speaking faster in the Ancient language then Kyle knew was possible, the old being explained about his capture nearly 200 years ago, his time spent trying to escape the Shades body, and his escape just a month ago. He told the trio the entire story, holding nothing back in his haste. Even the most skilled with their thoughts would have trouble holding back any information from their audience.
After such a story, Kyle did not know what else to offer up other then his ears. He held his mind open to Roy, We need to find a Rider and dragon now, not just telling your teacher when you see them child. I am stuck in the body of this one, with that comment, Kyle expressed his own displeasure at Andirekkr's thoughts. The young magician was not one that took insults very well. The boy had been forced into the bonding with the spirit as much as a blade of grass was dependent on light. While Kyle knew that Andirekkr would also try to do the right thing, the spirit could only flee to the closest magician so he could find a proper partner in which to work with. I am not going to gathering groups of freshlings to fight off monsters and evil gathering in the Desert. So how bout you take us to your masters now!

Roy paused as he heard the spirit talk to his mind. Um, its not master. I am no servant or slave. I am likely a student still, but I have my freedoms. he said back to Andirekkr with a polite voice.
Roy then turned to Soreth. Soreth, your more likely to explain that Jacob and his dragon are not near. Okay, I am gonna land. So, prepare them for me. Soreth huffed softly to the young rider who nodded slightly.
Roy turned to Kyle. "Okay, my dragon...Soreth is gonna land a few feet from us." he said in a slight warning. After a few seconds after the warning, Soreth's figure circled downward from the sky before softly landing. Folding his wings, Soreth walked forward before nodding to Kyle in a greeting.
I am Soreth, this young rider's partner and dragon. We have been bonded for almost a year already. Roy still has a long time in learning things before he becomes a full rider. the red, male dragon said softly to Kyle and Andirekkr with a calm, polite, male voice. Soreth then blinked at Kyle, I can sense your not a normal human. So, your a shade or something similar? I am sorry, I am deeply curious in this. I never heard that shades can be good and help riders before. Soreth's yellow eyes blinked as his head looked at Kyle, with interest in the dragon's depths. I should add that Roy wants to tell you that his teacher is in the rider's capitol. So, it may take a few days to tell his teacher about the gathering of 'evil' shades. Soreth told Kyle and his spirit with a sigh.
Roy took a step and patted the huge head of Soreth who rumbled softly in response.

Nodding his head, the human opened his mouth at the same time that Andirekkr started to give his own reply to the pair as well. "I understand you are not a slave, but the spirit is a nasty little slave driver!" Andirekkr just gave a short jab at Kyles mind for his little accusation. Kyle just shrugged away from the spirit's small assault. The two where starting to develop a banter between themselves of mutual aggression. Nether truly hated the other, but they did not mesh like old friends. I did not mean that you where a slave Roy. I meant your Ebrithilar. Those that teach you the way of Shur'tugal.
The spirit withdrew from all of their minds, and sat there with a sense of boding. His age made him feel entitled to a sense of respect from all of those gathered there. Kyle knew not to anger the spirit, he had seen a few of its work of Wild Magic already. But the pair was both in awe as they saw their first dragon up close and personal. Even Andirekkr was nervous about possible angering a dragon. But as soon as the dragon showed interest into the Spirits state of being, he was quick to enter back into the conversation. I am bound to this human out of need. I escaped from one of the shades, and took refuge with Kyle as a way to communicate with the mortal world. I have been used time and time again in the work of sorcerers, and have decided that it is time that i take control of my own fate. By being bound with this magician by choice, I can not be called to the whim of the Ancient Tongues words of power.
Through out his speech, he pushed into them his sense of hatred for being called and used on the whims of a few words. His constant use and contact with humanity has started to change his being. He had become human in a way. Andirekkr gave sharp bright memories of all the times he has been used for war and battle. I am a magician, and I will work to help Andirekkr win his own freedom

Roy heard Kyle and paused before hearing the spirit talk. Roy nodded, I understand what you mean, I am sorry if I hurt your feelings. the young rider thought to the spirit politely.
Roy then felt the spirit withdraw before coming back when Soreth landed and started to talk to them. The young, human rider can tell what the dragon said, since they are linked for life. They also work great as partners in situations. Soreth rarely closes the link to Roy, but also spends a lot of time talking to Roy through their minds.
Soreth heard Andirekkr's reply and softly nodded in reply. His wings moved a bit as he felt the soft pats from Roy. Oh. You decided to leave a shade. I think that it is interesting. I only heard that shades control quite a bit of ancient spirits, but never heard of them leaving a shade before. Soreth stated truthfully. He then felt the anger in Andirekkr and slightly twitched his tail. He also felt anger to Shades and shook his head slightly. I consider shades as an enemy, but you and Kyle are considered allies. Roy and I will happily stand at your side as friends. said Soreth a slight bow of his head.

A smile burst over Kyle's face as he heard that news, and an something that could only be called a purr came from Andirekkr's mind. To have a dragon as an ally was one hell of a feat. But the two also had different thoughts on where to go now. Kyle wanted to find a way out of his situation, and go home, while Andirekkr would not rest until he had killed the shades gathering in the Hadarac. Both of them wanted to do something about it, but Kyle's view of things where so much smaller then the spirits. Finding a Rider, and telling them of the Shades was all that he should have needed to do.
Andirekkr touched his mind out again the the pair before them, saying We will move to Ilirea while you fly to your teachers. It will be quickest with out company for all. Bring one of your leaders to the capital, and we shall convince the King to either support us or at least let us do what we must!
