Her misty colored eyes carefully darted about the sky, watching for signs of other life among the skies bigger then a falcon. But after several moments she found it was clear and finally took off into the air, launching herself from the temporary overhang she had been using for shelter. It was in no way the greatest of places but it certainly was the only way to have gotten some rest. Several days of solid traveling took it's toll even on a dragon and she was now well rested and refreshed, ready to continue on her flight among the Spine.
Not only was it where she was born but it was always where she was drawn back to, feeling more at home among the mountains then a desert like the Hadarac. Other might thing it strange or call it weird but that was just how it is. Though not that Crete really cared for what others thought, long as they didn't push her buttons then it just didn't matter what their opinion was, especially if this was what kept her alive all this time. Thirty years and still strong, that was what dragons were aiming for-a good size and a good age to see it respectable in their perspective of things. And so far she was quite satisfied with her size, age, and skills that she had worked on for so long.
Today though she was only taking it a little easy, soaring around parts of the mountains and going as high as she'd dare before diving back down. It was a warm day, no clouds in the sky, and it seemed no chances for competition. Least for the time being she had little care in the world and gladly had herself in the open, the sun catching her pale white scales and making them glitter like thousands of large and small diamonds.
To any wandering eyes she was an eye catcher, even to a person far below or anyone passing by in the sky. That is if someone were to be passing by at the time, or where there?

The day was indeed a pretty one, one that Eridor imagined would bring out many of the dragons, and one in which he often times lost track of his thoughts and where he was, really only staying mindful of the currents of air against his wings and the warmth of the sun against his back. He had started off the morning somewhere between Palancar valley and the pass through the Spine, and had long since taken off, slowly making his way to the island of the riders. He had also long since let his mind fall silent and started letting his surroundings flood into him, preferring to pass his time that way instead of dwelling on other things.
After awhile though, he decide to take a look around, and s he was flying in that layer of air that made long distance flying easy, and so really the only way for him to look was down if he wanted to see anything, which is where he saw the form of a white dragon flying a few miles away and down from him. He could tell few things from that distance, but he was certain that the dragon wasn't bonded because he couldn't make out any riders or a saddle.
He let out a deep roar that would terrify any lower creature but was considered a greeting among dragons and changed altered his course to bring him closer to the other dragon, and when he got close enough he sent out his thoughts to the dragon.
Greetings, I'm Eridor Nightscales. I don't believe we've met before?

The sound of the roar made Crete at first on her guard, pausing in the air when she waited for the dragon to show. But when listening closely she realized it was a greeting rather then a threatening one and the one to arrive was a very large male dragon.
Seeming as this large male had approached her Crete took a chance to see if they were wild or bonded. Yet there were no signs of a saddle nor rider on him either and she assumed he was wild like herself. Luckily though he wasn't there to fight merely talk maybe since he hadn't seemed to be going at a fast pace. On a nice day like this who would want to be doing much other then enjoying it with a good flight or lying about in the sun? 'It's nice to meet you Eridor, and I do not believe so.'She greeted, extending her mind so as to speak with the older dragon.
Though his name sounded highly familiar to her. For the moment though she couldn't quite put her claw on why however,'My name is Crete, just enjoying this day today is all and not really feeling up to doing much else.' She said with a great hint of content and satisfaction in her voice. 'But tell me Eridor where might you be off to? If you do not mind me asking?' She asked with a hint of curiosity.
She wasn't always a curious dragon but seeing someone of his size and age who didn't try for a challenge was enough to make her curious. More of just wondering what he had been up to while she herself had just been enjoying flying among the Spine.

As Eridor came up beside her and she asked her questions he let out a short chuckle. I'm actually on my way to Doru Araeba to check up on the riders' dragons training and to teach a couple of them some things. But I don't feel in any great hurry today, as its so nice and warm, perfect for being a lazy dragon. And you?
He was indeed on his way to the island of the riders, having been asked to go there a week ago by the riders commandant to teach some of the younger dragons a few things about airial combat that they were having trouble learning, and even though he was expected to be there as soon as possible, they had to understand that he was the dragons king, he had other things to do before he could go, so one extra day of him being lazy didn't hurt anyone. In fact, it was a lesson for them in patience.
He found himself looking at her after a few moments, taking in her coloring. It has been some time since i saw a dragon of your color, do you mind if i ask who your sires were?

'Never hurts to be lazy once in a while, after all even we dragons want to have a break. As for where I'm going it's wherever I end up next, never really having a destination in mind, save for when I return to the Spine.' Crete answered.
Honestly she never truly had a set destination in mind, least not when she was intending to just fly and explore. But when she hunted then she always sought out the best places to hunt for game, whether it be big or small. Other times her primary destination were the mountains since that was where she felt at home more then any place else. But there still had been places she hadn't gone to, such as Soru Araeba and Du Weldenvarden. As of yet she had had little to do with either area so it never occurred to her to go there.
But she was surprised when Eridor inquired about her sires, never having met anyone who had been interested to know. 'Well no not at all, my father was called Akor and my mother Skyclaw. Though I'm slightly paler then my mother since she too was a white dragon and my father an orange one.' She explained while flapping her wing lazily.
Though another thought did occur to her,'Also I have a much younger egg-mate as well. Her egg was one of few given to the riders so I have never met her.' She added, wondering if maybe Eridor might have.

He lazily flapped his massive wings while she talked, listening and absorbing the information. He was quite interested to learn the names of her parents, as he had a suspision that Skyclaw was her mother as she had been the only other white dragon he had ever met. As for her sibling he wasn't sure, though he probably had met the dragon because he had at one point or another met all of the riders' dragons.
hmmm.....your mother Skyclaw. Her I knew, and respect. Haven't seen her for quite some time either, but she was a very impressive dragon. Haven't ever heard of Akor though. You sibling....I'm sure that i've met her at one point, though I can't remember, and I'm quite sure that I would have remembered another white dragon. I do remember a young orange dragon that I met a few years ago...perhaps that's her?
He slowly started angling toward the ground, searching for a place to land so that the could talk without having to worry about staying in the air, besides that, his wing muscles were starting to cramp since he'd been flying most of the day.

Crete seemed quite proud when hearing about her mother, knowing only some of her mother's past. Though she was aware there were few white dragons in Alagaesia at this time which made her all the more delighted of inheriting a scale coloration much like Skyclaw only being paler, almost like her scales were made of diamonds. Thus her name of meaning 'clear.
'I'm surprised you knew my mother Eridor, then again your one of the few dragons I've actually had a real conversation with.' Crete told him, seeing he was beginning to angle towards the ground and she prepared to follow. Now that she thought about it she could feel her wing muscles beginning to get tired and aching slightly, having been flying and hovering for quite a while already. A break actually seemed like a good idea right about now. So without another hesitation Crete followed Eridor down towards the ground, looking to where they could land.
Though in their slight pause of the conversation realization suddenly hit her to why his name seemed familiar-he was Eridor himself, leader of her race. So Crete had been a little slow to realize this but to her he seemed like any other dragon and quite a fine fellow to speak with.

Eridor slowly circled around as he lost altitude, looking for a decent sized clearing for both Crete and himself to land in. As he did, he wondered at her comment about being one of the few dragons she'd had a real conversation with, though he put the matter on hold when he spotted a clearing that well suited his desires, angling his wings for it and landing in it but a minute later, rather gracfully for a dragon of his size. He waited for her to land as well before he asked her his question.
Why is that Crete? do you prefer to keep to yourself? He figured that she did. He was that way himself, preferring to spend his time watching and listening rather than talking and making friends like some other dragons he could name, the rider commandents dragon Vervada being one of them. Yes I knew your mother. She and I knew each other fairly well in my youth, though thats been a few centuries ago. We grew up near each other, and us being the only two hatchlings within a few hundred miles we gravitated to each other, after all everyone tends to prefer to be around people their own age. As I said though, its been quite a while since I've seen her, though there are times I wish she was around. I valued her ability to come up with solutions to things that would take me a while to figure out, but unfortunately my duty to our race took priority when my father died from an attack by a shade and I took his place as king.
While he spoke he settled down, stretching his limbs out and folding his wings against his side, letting himself relax totally as he didn't often do. Admittedly he liked the Dragon with him, she was nice and someone he found easy to talk to as well, someone he was beginning to think he could rely on if ever he needed someone to do something for him.

Crete didn't take long to follow, angling herself to the clearing and flaring her wings a bit before she landed gracefully across from Eridor. Folding in her wings to her back she stretched slightly before sitting back on her haunches, her tail wrapping around her legs as she faced the male dragon. 'You could say that Eridor. I also travel so often I never like to settle in one place, so it never really gives me the chance to make long term friends.' She replied to him.
Though she next listened to his brief tale of how he use to know her mother, wondering if at one point he might have seen her as more then a friend. But she had not seen her mother in many years now herself, not since she was still very young before she left out on her own. But she had wound up staying very close to the Spine, maybe just a few miles from her original hatching spot. 'I wish I could tell you where she was Eridor, it has been a long time since I last saw her myself. Not since shortly after I hatched and when they taught me what I needed before I was ready to be off on my own.' Turning her head she nodded in the direction further into the forest.'A couple miles that way.'
