Rinilya's eyes scanned the forest for a moment, watching for a familiar shimmer of icy blue colored scales, watching for a sign of her companion. But no. Again Iarna was out early on her own this time, seeking out some breakfast that she could have before Rinilya joined her. Though it didn't bother the young elf woman, especially since her mind and soul linked partner always went for meat as her source to survive which made Rinilya shudder with deep disgust. Like most elves she couldn't stand the sight of an animal killed nor someone eating meat, not when she had been in an animal's mind through the use of her training.
So while she waited Rinilya decided to take a stroll, dressed in a light blue sleeveless knee-length dress, a leather belt with light blue stones adorning it around her waist. Tied to the belt was her rider sword, a specially made rapier that was slightly thicker and longer widthwise, the hilt made of a lighter shade of the brightsteel with black leather wrapped around the hilt. In a three clawed design at the top was a light blue gemstone the same color as her dragon's scales. One would think she was dressed a bit formally but Rinilya often dressed this way when she planned to go train, especially when it came to flying. Which her and Iarna had planned to do today, yet still the young dragon was no where in sight though they could still sense each other.
'I shall be returning soon young one, I was just finishing off one of those large snails. Quite tasty in the morning.'Iarna's voice came over their mental link, feeling the young elf shudder at the thought and couldn't help give her own growl of amusement. She was well aware Rinilya hated to know her eating habits and what she liked the most: deer and the unusually large snails on Doru Arabea. She licked her chops just thinking about every meal she could successively hunt down. Her form was built for that, speed and agility, suited for the skies that she loved so dearly. One day she hoped to even fly higher then any known dragon in the world, to show they were capable of anything besides being limited to such low altitudes. But she knew one thing that hindered her was still getting use to flying long distances and the fact Rinilya needed oxygen to breathe.
With a deep sigh, flames shooting from her nostrils, the icy blue female dragon made her way to the forest edge where she found Rinilya waiting to meet up with her. Folding her wings close to her back Iarna went into a steep dive before flaring out her wings to slow her descent, landing on her back legs to take the impact before landing on her front ones,'Are you ready young one?'
'Always ready.'Rinilya responded, resting a hand on the young dragon's side and smiling softly before they began to walk towards the training grounds. One thing they loved to do together was train, though this time Rinilya was starting her training for the day with her sword, not being the best with the skills of the blade. No she was far better with bows or maybe even a spear or dagger, but swords such as her rapier rider sword was just something she was not naturally skilled with.

Chase had left the elven cities a couple weeks ago. Thanks to a boat going across the sea, he was able to finally go to Doru Araeba. Ever since he left his house, he had always wanted to go there. The dragon city just seemed so enticing to him. It had dragon riders of all races, dragons, and those big snails. Of course he couldn't catch one by himself but he was glad he was able to travel there. It had been a little difficult to convince the captain of the ship to let him aboard.
But when he said that he could catch any rat that got aboard as well, the captain obliged perfectly. He didn't want rats infesting his cargo. Most of which was food and other items that weren't made or grown there. So Chase had been like his name, Chase Rovac Draven. All would that could equal up to being a Hunter, which was another name that he went by. But wait! All he really went by was either Chase or Hunter. Sure he gave people his first and last name, but he preferred only those two.
So, he had caught rats and thrown them overboard. When the captain said he would give Chase better food than the rats he realized just how much he didn't really want to eat them. Sure the cat in him probably did, but he could like the deer and big prey animals that he couldn't catch alone better.
Now we find the little guy walking the streets. He took on either his cat form or his human. Riders would sort of stop and stare at him, especially the ones who hadn't seen a werecat before. Which was odd, because he could smell some here in the city. Though they probably kept on their cat form. But with he being so short as a human, people could tell what he was. It also didn't help when his cat form had a very odd coat unlike most house cats. And the fact that he was a little bit bigger than a house cat at a closer look.
As he walked around the city, his human eyes scanned all the buildings. They were huge! And the dragons...don't even get him started on them. Some of them were ginormous while some he could tell were still young. And the colors. They were all so different. Even some that looked super close in color had some specks of another color in their eyes, or talons, or scales.
He found a couple people walking off towards the training ground. He smiled to himself, pointed teeth already showing what would come in a couple moments. He was able to hide himself behind a building. As he walked out of the other side, his body had turned back into its slightly larger than a house cat ocelot body. The coat stood out among the greenery in town.
When he finally walked into the training area, his ears flicked around listening to the sounds of swords clanging, arrows piercing the boards, and dragons’ wings flapping in the sky. His eyes also took in these sights. He purred lightly to himself as he walked by a dragon standing next to his human. He sat down looking at the two for a moment who were obviously in thought with each other. With a slight lick of his paw he got up and continued to walk around.
Upon coming to an icy blue dragon and her rider he paused again. Elven rider to be exact. He walked up to them and without a moments hesitation spoke to them in thought. 'Well...fancy seeing an Elven Rider not long after I just left Ceris.'
He had seen a couple elves here, but most of them looked so much older and it was rare to see a young Elven Dragon Rider. It was obvious that both the dragon and rider were young. Even more so by how easily it was for Chase to slip into their minds. He didn't dare to venture any further than just talking to them though. Didn’t want to invade their privacy, plus elves minds were easy to get lost in. Dragons...not so much.[/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGED . Rinilya and Iarna WORDS . 703 NOTES . Neither companion had noticed the werecat when they had first come up to the training grounds, both making their way around several others. Trying to find a space was sometimes hard to do when there was several dragons that sometimes took up quite a bit of space. Though Iarna probably didn't help since she was quite a large size now then 7 years ago, none the less she was still young.
Though as Rinilya stepped forward, about to draw her rapier she was a little surprised when Chase suddenly spoke into their minds and she turned her gaze towards the unusual werecat, having seen quite a few cats around but it was hard to tell which was a werecat and which wasn't. Of course Chase seemed to be an exception to that. 'Well if you were looking for a vacation from elves, you came to the wrong place.'The young elf responded in slight amusement, having Ceris a time or two when she had been in Du Weldenvarden. But that had been long ago.
'You certainly are a most interesting looking among the werecats here,'Iarna said as she lower her head, peering at Chase with a icy blue eye. Small smoke rings came from her nostrils as she gave a soft snort, having sensed several of Chase's kinds among Doru Arabea since they had come there a few weeks ago. But it had been quite tiring journey, however.

Chase looked to the elf first since she was the first one to speak to him. He dipped his head slightly speaking back to her, a slight amusement also filling his voice. 'This is true. Though, I didn't expect to see one so young here more precisely.'
His eyes flicked over her rapier, the brown glinting on the cool icy blue, almost the same shade as her dragon accompany. It was then that he turned his head to the young dragon. She had put her head down to his level, which he was sort of glad for. Though he did respect dragons, they were way bigger than he, so he liked when they tried to come down to the lower heights. Her eyes almost match the color of her hide which he noticed when his met hers, but then he was covered in a thin smoke cloud as she gave a huff. He couldn't help but give a smile, which seemed feral thanks to the teeth. 'Well thank you.' He said getting up and walking to rub against her legs like any cat would. He sat down again looking at the two. 'I must say, I do love the blue scheme here. But, I might be partial to it since it is one of my favorite colors.' He lay down, his tail switching back and forth on the ground as he looked from rider to dragon. 'How long have you been bonded Iarna and Rinilya?' He said his teeth showing once again. Werecats were known for their wisdom which was the only way he knew their names. His ears flicked back, the earrings that dangled there caught it the wind and made a tinkling sound as he flicked them. 'You may call me either Chase or Hunter. Either or....preferably Hunter in this form and Chase in my human. Though, if you see me in that form I don't know.' He looked at the two waiting for them to talk or do something. his mind whirring with all the activity going around as he looked around and listened to them speak. Rinilya couldn't help but smile proudly at that, knowing most elves who were chosen were often adults already and some a couple more years older then herself. One thing she took pride in was being a much younger elf since there were so few around. The unfortunate thing was elf children were quite rare and highly cherished among her people, it just happen to be her luck she was one of them. And now she was already not only progressing in her use of magic and some other skills but having the chance to make her mark in the riders.
While Rinilya began to go through her different strikes of her rider sword, Iarna gave a low growl of amusement. 'Well I am glad to hear that, we are blue every day and loving it.' She responded, giving a low hum of approval as Hunter rubbed against her legs before she lied on her belly and began to watch her rider train with the sword. 'Me and Rinilya have been bonded for over seven years now Hunter, she was only ten when I hatched for her. Many might have felt I made a mistake that day but I know in my heart my decision was true.'
Surely it had been a rough road, the two being seen as uncertain to succeed when Rinilya was still a child at the time and her magic still unstable and Iarna a mere hatchling. But seven years later the two were still going strong and their bond getting stronger. Of course they both were trying not to finish each other's sentences, which had happened already a few times.
'So Hunter...' '...what brings you to....''...Doru Arabea?'The two suddenly began asking, one right after the other without realizing it. Again something that had begun without them really thinking about it.

Chase watched as Rinilya started to go through her various sword fighting techniques. It was pretty amazing how skilled dragon riders were with the blade. Even if it wasn’t their favorite weapon, they all had a sort of grace with it. Especially the elves. They were almost made for it, what with their already fluid movements. They just outshone all the human riders here. You could easily distinguish between elves and humans in battle. He himself, was better with a dagger than a sword. More made for closer combat, even though the basics were almost the same.
His ears flicked to Iarna, although he didn’t really need to since they were telepathically communicating. Still, it showed that even though he was watching her rider, he was paying attention to what she had to say. He couldn’t help but give a little growl/laugh at what she said about their bond. ’People that think a dragon is wrong are stupid. Do they not realize how easily you could crush them, or kill them with your fire?’ He shook his head in exasperation of this fact. ’It seems like individuals these days are slowly getting stupider.’ His eyes narrowed for half a second before flipping back open.
Hunter smiled at the way they finished each others sentences. It was obvious both in their bond and their talking how close the two really were. Anyone who didn’t see that obviously was blind, or worse. ’Just interested in what happens here really. I left my home to travel and be closer to dragons. I prefer them over the other werecat company I had to keep. Much more, how do you say it, fun to talk to.’
He didn’t mean it as an insult and he was hoping that it didn’t come out as one. He really did like them over other werecats. Other werecats just had to talk about dragons and be around them. But actually getting up the courage to talk to one of the great beasts was something that not many did or could do. [/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGED . Rinilya and Iarna WORDS . 342 NOTES . 'Well you will certainly find a lot of things going on here Chase, if you want to see strange and new things this is the place to go.'Rinilya replied as she continued to move through her techniques, hardly showing any signs of tiredness yet. Like her fellow elves she was very fluid, agile, and quick on her reflexes, even if the blade wasn't her greatest weapon. Still even the weakest elf could out do the strongest of a human. Well maybe save for a human rider but at times they could almost be equal.
Iarna at the same time snorted, small flames coming from her nostrils at what the werecat said. She agreed that no elf, human, or any two legged creature had any right to correct her on her decision or criticize what she saw in her rider. A dragon chose that rider for a reason, that decision was their's and their's alone. 'Obviously so. No right minded person would ever question my decision or any dragon's if they knew what was good for them!' She growled as she said this, raising head to breathe a stream of fire that was icy blue in color that faded into white towards the middle. Her stubbornness and pride though was easily reached to her rider who paused in her moves to shoot a look of warning towards the young dragon. 'It's true.'Iarna said, lowering her head and licking a claw showing no signs of apologies.
Rinilya thought could only shake her head, knowing how defiant, stubborn, and sometimes prideful her bonded partner was. "Just be careful when you do that Iarna, you know one of the older riders could get onto us about that." She warned and facepalmed as Iarna shrugged her shoulders.
'Let them, I am not afraid.'Iarna added while she shrugged her shoulders.

Chase watched curiously as Rinilya went through her moves. It was always amazing to see how fluid the elves moved. Humans tended to be clumsy when moving. Even he at times when using a. New dagger or sword looked awkward until he got used to the weight. But with her, and most elves, they could always look graceful. It made him slightly envious. He nodded his head slightly to what she said. He couldn't wait to see what else there was. Maybe even try one of those Snalglí.
When the sudden heat came from above him, he looked up towards Iarna. The fire she had snorted through her nostrils was no more, but there was still smoke. He couldn't help but grin at the dragons pride. A lot of dragons had that. But he could see that hers was very important to her. It was probably something her rider felt like she had a bit too much of. The flame that she blew next started blue then turned white. Chase raised an eyebrow curiously since that meant her fire was extremely hot. This was a rare gift.
He wondered vaguely slid she knew this, but then decided that she probably did. He watched the banter between the dragon and rider and his grin stretched to a toothy grin. "You may not care, but your rider does. She doesn't want either of you to get in trouble. You never know what they could make you two do for punishment. Even the elder dragons have things to teach you young one."
He glanced at Rinilya then back to Iarna warily. He picked up one of his front paws and started to clean it. "Being too prideful can have it drawbacks on yourself and those around you. So do be careful." He finished that paw and picked up the other one, watching Iarna to see what her reaction would be.
